A Very Easy Spicy Salmon Burger Recipe

These simple to make, delicious burgers are a great alternative to regular fish cakes that use potato to fill them out. You can make these patties as spicy as you wish using either our Signature Sambal or Sambal Ulek. I like to keep a balance between the flavour of the salmon and the oriental spicing but you can please yourself entirely with the amount you decide to use.

This is an easy and quick light lunch or you can add some rice and a larger salad to make an evening meal.  

Ingredients (for 2)
2 boneless and skinless salmon fillets - approx 280g 
2 tablespoons of either sambal ulek or signature sambal, depending on your heat preference
small bunch of chopped coriander
1/2 tsp soy sauce (optional)
Salt to taste
Half a lime
Sunflower oil for frying

Method
Put the salmon fillets, coriander, salt, sambal and soy sauce, if using, into a food processor and pulse to a roughly chopped mixture. Remove from the bowl and shape into two patties of equal size.

Heat 2 -3 tablespoons of the oil in a frying pan large enough for both patties to fit in. Fry them in the oil for about 8 minutes, turning every two minutes or so to ensure an even cook.

When ready pop on a plate and squeeze over some fresh lime juice. Serve with either a salad or rice or both. I like to have some hot sweet chilli sauce to dip on the side but it isn't necessary, just a good up-sell / cross sell! :0
