I'm delighted to introduce you to our newest chilli sambal - Sambal Tomat. As you may have guessed by the name this sambal is tomato based, combined with some new ingredients to our sambal range.
Those new ingredients are galangal, Bird's Eye chillies and roasted seaweed. The addition of galangal gives a very distinct South East Asian flavour, whilst the roasted seaweed adds a lovely umami touch to proceedings.
This sambal has an incredible range of flavour and just like our others can be used in a variety of culinary ways. You can eat is as intended, a condiment on the side of your curries, or as a flavour enhancement to any number of dishes.
So far I have used this in stir fry's to add heat and favour to the veg and also spread on top of a burger where it really does shine if you like a spicy burger! There will be many more recipes from our test kitchen over the coming months so do keep an eye on that section of the website.
Once more this sambal is both vegan friendly and gluten free.
