The British are largely responsible for introducing curry to Japan via the Royal Navy who had a penchant for mixing curry powders into stews. In Japan there are distinctly Western style curries that sit alongside the more traditional Indian style curries. The result of these influences is a very distinct powder that I have emulated here.
