Mitmita is a very hot spice blend from Ethiopia. It gains it's heat from dried Bird's Eye chillies that are blended with cumin, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon and cloves.
It's common use is for Kitfo, where raw minced beef is marinated with mitmita and a spiced clarified butter known as niter kibbeh.
If you are a fan of heat then this is the blend for you. You can add it to stews, meatballs, soups, pulse and grain dishes or use as a dry rub on meats or vegetables.
